The Metro Fire Recruit Academy instructs recruits in a range of emergency response skills including essential and advanced fireground tasks, basic rescue operations, basic fire prevention and fire investigation tasks, basic and advanced life support operations, and other mandated skills as part of the California State Fire Marshal Accredited Firefighter I Academy.
The academy encompasses hundreds of hours on the drill ground and in the classroom combining the knowledge and skills critical for performing emergency operations at fires, emergency medical incidents, motor vehicle accidents, and more. Academy staff trains recruits in the skills needed to be successful in their careers and instilled Metro Fire’s core values of Integrity, Professionalism, Teamwork, and Devotion to Duty.
