Board of Directors
Board of Directors
Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District is a special district governed by a Board of Directors. Each Board Member is elected by the voters within a geographical area, or division, of Metro Fire's operational area. There are nine Board Members representing the citizens within our jurisdiction.
Board of Directors Public Meetings
The Board of Directors regular meetings are held on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 6:00 PM, with the exception of Holidays and other recesses. Meetings are held at District Headquarters, 10545 Armstrong Ave., Mather CA 95655 in the Board Chambers. The Board of Directors encourages attendance and input at Board meetings. Members of the public can observe and participate in Board and Committee meetings in person or remotely via Zoom. Board and Committee meetings are streamed live online on Zoom and YouTube. The recording will also be closed captioned and video streamed at metro14live.saccounty.gov; or Metro Cable Channel 14. Please check the agenda for specific information.
Agendas for the Board meetings are posted 72 hours prior to the meeting at District Headquarters and on the District website, see below. Minutes and Videos of meetings can also be viewed in that section.
Providing Public Comment
Live verbal public comments may be made by members of the public in person, or by joining the meeting via Zoom (for hybrid meetings held in person and via teleconference/video conference). For special meetings, public comment is limited to item(s) on the agenda only.
• Members of the public wishing to speak will be asked to fill out a Speaker Information Form (note whether it's on an agendized item or non-agenda item).
• Zoom access information is provided on the agenda. Use the “raise hand” feature (for those joining by phone, press *9 to “raise hand”) during the public comment period for the agenda item you wish to address. The Zoom Host will call on people to speak by the name provided or last 4 digits of phone number for dial-in attendees. Please clearly state your full name for the record at the start of your public comment.
• Written public comments for Board and Committee meetings may be submitted in advance by 4pm on the meeting date (for regularly scheduled meetings) by email to: boardclerk@metrofire.ca.gov and will be provided to the Board or Committee but will NOT be read verbally at the meeting. When sending the email, please include name, address, agenda item, and public comment.
Pursuant to SB 707, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District is providing a physical posting location for the public to post translations of the agenda on a bulletin board at 10545 Armstrong Avenue. The board may only be used for Board of Directors agendas posted in languages other than English, and the District is not responsible for nor liable for the content, accuracy, or posting of these translations. Any materials posted that are not agenda translations will be removed immediately.
