The Metro Fire Citizens Academy is a 12-week, behind-the-scenes program for community members, business owners, and civic leaders who want a closer look at the people and capabilities behind the sirens.

You'll explore:

• Who we are: our history, leadership, mission, and the communities we serve
• Behind the scenes: dispatch, fleet, facilities, IT, finance, HR, and logistics
• How we care for people: EMS, Mobile Integrated Health, tactical EMS, wellness, and training
• How we reduce risk: fire prevention, community risk reduction, arson investigation, and CERT
• How we respond: engine and truck operations, technical rescue, water rescue, air operations, and hazardous materials

You'll meet the people behind the uniforms, see the preparation that happens long before an emergency, and learn how an all-hazard fire district works together to protect lives and serve the community.
